DECLARING JULY 2, 1979, TO BE "DR SEUSS DAY"
IN THE CITY OF MUSKEG0
WHEREAS, the Muskego Public Library is beginning its
Summer Reading Program beginning the week of July 2nd,
and
WHEREAS, this summer program is at the time that
Dr. Theodore Seuss Geisel is celebrating his 75th
birthday, and
WHEREAS, Dr Seuss has been delighting children for
two generations, and
WHEREAS, his books show an extraordinary inventive-
ness, and
WHEREAS, his books have introduced children to fresh
and original uses of language, and
WHEREAS, on July 2, 1979 at the Muskego Public Library
honoring him at which time several individuals within
the librarian has developed a Dr. Seuss Reading Marathon
the hours of 1O:OO A N and 2:OO P.M , and
the city will read stories written by Dr. Seuss between
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Muskego wishes
to recognize Dr. Seuss's works,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the
City of Muskego does hereby declare July 2., 1979 as
"DR SEUSS DAY" and decrees that it shall be celebrated
with all the pomp and ceremony which such an occasion
warrants.
