CCR1977075RESOLUTION #75-77 ACCEPTING METROPOLITAN SEWERAGE DISTRICT ENGINEERING AND ADMINISTRATIVE PLAN FOR INFILTRATION/INFLOW STUDY WHEREAS, extraneous water from infiltration/inflow sources reduces the capability of sewer systems and treatment facilities to transport and treat domestic and industrial wastewaters, and WHEREAS, the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1972 require that, after July 1, 1973, all applicants for treatment works grants must demonstrate that each sewer system discharging into the treatment works is not subject to excessive infiltration/inflow (40 CFR 35.927 (a), and WHEREAS, the treatment works grant applicant (Metropolitan Sewerage District) is responsible for the entire sewer system evaluation including rehabilitation to eliminate excessive infiltration/inflow, and WHEREAS, the sewer system included in the evaluation must originate at the wastewater sources and terminate at the wastewater facility (Jones Island and South Shore Plants), and WHEREAS, at the direction of the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Metropolitan Sewerage District of the County of Milwaukee has formulated an acceptable plan for the definition and elimination of excessive infiltration/inflow in the service area, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Muskego that the 'Engineering/Administrative Plan for the Definition and Elimination of Excessive Infiltration/ Sewerage District of the County of Milwaukee be and the same Inflow in the Service Area' as prepared by the Metropolitan is hereby approved in principle, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this approval indicate to all and carry out this plan as it applies to the City of Muskego concerned that the Common Council intends to cooperate with DATED THIS af& DAY OF ma& , 1977 ATTEST' I, I City Clerk
