URGING THE STATE TO INSTALL TRAFFIC SIGNALS
ON HIGHWAYS 36 AND 45
WHEREAS, there has developed an increasing concern over the number
of accidents taking place at the intersection of STH 36 and USH 45,
and
WHEREAS, records from the Muskego Police Department indicate that
since 1972 there have been 26 reported accidents at the intersection
of which 12 took’place since January 1, 1975, and
WHEREAS, the majority of the accidents which have t.aken place
mended that traffic lights be installed at the intersection, and
resulted in.persona1 injury and the Police Department has recom-
WHEREAF, the Safety Comnittee has recommended that the Common
Council recommend to the State Department of Transportation the
installation of traffic lights.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of
Muskego, upon recommendation of its Safety Conunittee, does hereby
recommend to the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation
the installation of traffic lights at the intersection of STH 36
and USH 45.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution shall be
sent to the State Department of Transportation, County Highway
Commission and to the City’s representatives in Madison.
