CREATION OF POSITION F@K ADDITIONAL PATROI,VAN
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has requested the Common Council
authorize an additional position of patrolman effectj-ve August 1,
1976, and
WHEREAS, the Public Safety Committee and the Finance Committee, in
considering the request, noted that there had been no additional
patrolman position created since 1974, that the City's population
has increased to an estimated lrt,000, and that sufficient monies are
available to cover the additional cost from August 1 to December 31,
1976, and
WHEREAS, the Public Safety Committee and the Finance Commj.ttee a1.so
considered the fact that the present cadet has graduated and il: would
be advantageous to the City to promote him to the position of patrol-
man.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of
a salary range to be established as the result of the present
negotiating process.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the total number of patrolman positions
authorized by the Council is now established at fourteen (14).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk is authorized to transfer
$5,000 from the Contingency Fund #602.0490 to Salary Account V520.011.0.
