AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF FLTNDS FOR
BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION
WHEREAS, the Bicentennial Committee has requested financial aid
for the development of a bicentennial park which will include
several buildings depicting early life in our community as well
as the reconstructed World War I Honor Roll Monument, and
WHEREAS, they have further requested that consideration be
given to designating a portion of a wooded area within the
civic center site for the location of the park, and
WHEREAS, the Finence Committee feels that further discussion on
the site for the bicentennial park is needed however wishes to
commit the city to provide some financial aid for its development,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council, upon the.
recommendation of the Finance Committee, does hereby approve
of a grant to the Bicentennial Committee in the amount of
$1,000.00 to help defray the costs of creating a bicentennial
park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this grant is subject to an agree-
ment as to where the park will be located.
