CLARIFYING THE STATUS OF THE
NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE
WHEREAS,Section 209 of the Municipal Code provides that personnel
matters under the jurisdiction of the Finance Committee, and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has been the negotiating com-
mittee for the City over the past several years, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to provide
that the Finance Committee as negotiators shall have the right
to determine their own procedures, and
WHEREAS, the Finance Cotmuittee! is asking the Common Council
to reaffirm the areas of responsibilities of the Finance
Commit tee.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the
City of Muskego does hereby acknowledge the Finance Committee
as its negotiating agent,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City
of Muskego does hereby accord to the Finance Committee the
privilege of establishing its own rules of order when acting
as negotiators for the City
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Finance Committee is di-
rected to make every attempt to keep the members of the
Common Council informed of the progress of negotiations,
keeping in mind it is the Committee's responsiblity to
protect the City's position as much as possible.
