AUTHORIZING EMERGENCY REPAIR TO DIKE ON
LITTLE MUSKEGO LAKE
WHEREAS, the excessive rains of the last several weeks caused
a break in the dike where the temporary bypass was created
to lower the lake level prior to the construction of the new
spillway, and
WHEREAS, it will be necessary to tightsheet that area in order
that sandbags and debris can be removed and replaced with
clay, and
WHEREAS, the following quotations have been received:
Brinkmann Engineering
Linnan Construction Co.
$ 8,200.00
$ 6,800.00
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to repair that area of the dike as
quickly as possible,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City
of Muskego does hereby approve of the tightsheeting of that
portion of the dike which broke as a result of the heavy rains
by Linnan Construction Co. at a cost of $6,800.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this work is being done on an
emergency basis and the Common Council does hereby waive the
normal procedure of bidding.
