ENCOURAGING CITIZEN PARTICIPATION IN THE CITY-SPONSORED
RECYCLING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the United States is facing an ever-increasing demand upon the supply of its natural resources, and
WHEREAS, the present methods of solid waste disposal,
incineration and landfill, deplete our supply of natural
resources and degrade the quality of our air, land, and
water, and
WHEREAS, recycling is the best long-range solution to
Wisconsin solid waste and other environmental problems, and
WHEREAS, pulverization and automatic re-cycling has been found
not to be economical for the City of Muskego at the present
time, and
WHEREAS, Acme Disposal has agreed to provide containers
and supervision for the collection of recyclable materials
at the city landfill site,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Muskego does
hereby encourage the active participation of its citizens in the city-sponsored recycling program as an interim
constructive step toward efficient recycling of our natural
resources.
