ACCEPTING TEE BID FOR THE PURCKASE
OF 9.5 ACRES OF LAND
WHEREAS, Resolution #144-70 authorized the Finance Committee
to advertise for sale 9.5 acres of city owned land on the
east side of Pioneer Drive, and
WHEREAS, the Finance Comittee, after advertising in the several
local newspapers and direct communication with several of the
larger realty companies, have received a bid from William V.
Reilly and Leon Joseph for $32,500.00, subject to the rezoning:
of the property to RSM, and
WHEREAS, they have proposed to build 82 multiple units, comprised
of 37% standard one bedroom units, 48% one bedroom units with a
den area and 15% one bedroom units for the elderly which would
add substantially to the tax base of the community without a
great deal of cost for municipal and school purposes, and
WHEREAS, it would be of benefit to the City of Muskego to sell.
this property to get it back on the tax rolls,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of
Muskego does hereby accept the offer of William V. Reilly and Leon
Joseph to purchase 9.5 acres of land from the city for $32,500.00,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this acceptance is subject to a
guarantee from the purchaser that sufficient financing is available
to assure construction within one year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this acceptance is conditioned upon
the advice of the City Attorney that if such construction does not
begin, the land would revert back to the city.
