CCR1970202RESOLUTION #202-70 ESTABLISHING THE TRAINING REQUIRENENTS FOR NEW POLICE OFFICERS AS ESTABLISHED BY THE WISCONSIN LAW ENFORCEMENT STANDARDS c WHEREAS, the City of Muskego is desirous of electing to participate in the recruit qualifications and training program under the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Act which is Chapter 466 of the Laws of 1969, and WHEREAS, in order that the City of Muskego be eligible for participation in the program, the law requires that, before an individual may be employed as a law enforcement officer, that individual must have been certified by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board as being qualified under the standards set by the Board, and WHEREAS, the City of Muskego will, as a minimum, establish the recruit qualifications and training standards set by the Board as prerequisites to the employment of its law enforcement: officers henceforth, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Muskego hereby elects to participate in the recruit qualifications and train- ing program of the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that, before an individual may commence employment on a probationary or temporary basis as a law enforce- ment officer that individual must have met the recruit qualif- ications set by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board, and '1' before an individual may commence employment on a part-time or full-time permanent basis as a law enforcement officer, that individual must have been certified by the Board as having met the recruit qualifications and as having successfully completed the preparatory training course required under the Board's recruit training standards. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that such recruit training must be succ:ess- fully completed by the trainee within his probationary period. Under justifiable circumstances, this period may be extended, but the total period during which a person may serve as a law enforce- ment officer on a probationary or temporary basis without success- fully completing a preparatory training course approve by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board shall not exceed two years. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Police and Fire Conrml-ssioners are hereby instructed and directed to make the necessary amendments to the Personnel Rules, the Manual of Rules of the Muskego Police Department, and the rules of said Board of Police and Fire Comnliss- ioners, requiring that any person employed henceforth as a law enforcement officer by the Muskego Police Department must meet the recruit qualifications and training standards set by the WLs- consin Law Enforcement DATED THIS -2 &DAY OF 1970. @ * SAFETY ,7 FT"? J - ATTEST: 2WL U&& - dharles Foldy Harold DeBack 9/70 RESOLUTION 8201-70 e e ACCEPTING THE LOW BID FOR 20' EXTENSION OF 'CULVERT UNDER S.T.H. 24 WHEREAS, the Public Works Committee, with the approval of the Council, had advertised for bids for the installation of an additional 20' of culvert under S.T.H. 24, and WHEREAS, Brookfield Culvert Service, Inc. bid $4,900.00 plus $9.00 per hour for connecting unknown sewers and Edw. R. Ryan, Inc. bid $4,425.00, and WHEREAS, the Public Works Committee has recommended that the low bid of Edw. R. Ryan, Inc. be accepted, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Public Works Committee, does hereby accept the low bid of Edw. R. Ryan, Inc. in the amount of $4,425.00 for the installation of 20' of culvert under S.T.H. 24.
