REQUESTING CHANGE IN SPEED LIMIT
ON S.T.H. 24
WHEREAS, there presently exists a 50 rnph speed limit from the
easterly boundary of the City of Muskego westerly to Tess
Corners, and
WHEREAS, the volume of traffic entering the Fountainwood and
Hale Park West Subdivisions has increased considerably since
the establishment of these speed limits, and
WHEREAS, there has been a number of serious accidents on this
stretch of S.T.H. 24, and
WHEREAS, the Public Safety Committee has recommended that the
Common Council request the Waukesha County Highway Department
to establish a 35 mph speed zone which would extend from the
existing 35 mph speed limit in Milwaukee County to Tess Corners,,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City
of Muskego does hereby request that the necessary action be
taken which would extend the existing 35 mph speed limit in
Milwaukee County on S.T.H. 24 to the Tess Corners area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this recommendation is based on
the amount of congestion created by the traffic using S.T.H. 24
as a means of getting to the Fountainwood and Hale Park West
Subdivisions. n
