CCR2011175-Public Works Dept-Director COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO RESOLUTION #175-2011 RESOLUTION TO CREATE THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND APPROVE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR WHEREAS, With the adoption of the 2012 operating budget, the Common Council of the City of Muskego determined that a new department should be created to meet the City’s Public Works, Public Utilities and Engineering needs; and WHEREAS, The creation of the Public Works Department is proposed to combine the functions of the existing Public Works, Public Utilities and Community Development- Engineering Division Departments; and WHEREAS, The Common Council determined that the creation of a new Department of Public Works would provide more efficiency and better meet the City’s current and future needs; and WHEREAS, The Finance Committee has reviewed the attached job description for the Director of Public Works/City Engineer position and has recommended approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of Muskego upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, does hereby create the Department of Public Works effective January 1, 2012. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Common Council, upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, does hereby approve the job description for the Director of Public Works/City Engineer and eliminates the existing position of City Engineer/Coordinator of Public Works Projects as of January 1, 2012. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the employee position descriptions within the affected Departments will be revised administratively. TH DATED THIS 13 DAY OF December , 2011.
