COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO
RESOLUTION #117-2011
HONORING CITY OF MUSKEGO EAGLE SCOUT
WILLIAM RYKER SHARP
WHEREAS, WILLIAM RYKER SHARP is a member of Boy Scout Troop 332 and a
student at Muskego High School; and
WHEREAS, RYKER earned 54 merit badges to date and served in several
leadership positions throughout his scouting career; and
WHEREAS, RYKER achieved the rank of Eagle Scout after years of service and
dedication to the Code of the Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS, For his Eagle Scout service project, RYKER coordinated the building
of 42 “Leopold” benches for the Phantom Lake YMCA Camp in Mukwonago. He
raised the money for the project by collecting sponsors as a memorial to his
aunt, Gretchen Peterson DeGarmo, who passed away. The name of his aunt and
the sponsors were engraved on individual plates that were attached to each
bench; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his interest in scouting, RYKER is a member of the
swimming, tennis and track teams.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of
Muskego does hereby commend WILLIAM RYKER SHARP for achieving the rank
of Eagle Scout and acknowledges and applauds the efforts required to attain
scouting’s highest honor.
