RESOLUTION #068-2011
AUTHORIZATION TO APPLY FOR LAKE PLANNING GRANT
ON BEHALF OF LAKE DENOON ADVANCEMENT ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, Lake Denoon is an important resource used by the public for recreation and
enjoyment of natural beauty; and
WHEREAS, A study and examination of the lake will lead to better understanding and will
promote the public health, comfort, convenience, necessity and public welfare; and
WHEREAS, The City of Muskego and Lake Denoon Advancement Association recognize the
need for responsible and holistic long-range planning to better manage the lake, its watershed,
and its use; and
WHEREAS, The City and the Association further recognize the need to provide information or
education on the use of lakes or natural lake ecosystems, on the quality of water in lakes, or on
the quality of natural lake ecosystems, and
WHEREAS, The City and the Association are qualified to carry out the responsibilities of the
planning project; and
WHEREAS, The City and the Association understand the importance of a continuing
management program for Lake Denoon and intends to proceed on that course.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Muskego, on behalf of the Lake
Denoon Advancement Association, requests grant funding and assistance available from the
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources under the “Lake Management Planning Grant
Program” and hereby authorizes Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti to act on behalf of the City to:
submit an application to the State of Wisconsin for financial aid for lake planning
purposes;
sign documents;
take necessary action to undertake, direct, and complete an approved lake planning
grant; and
submit reimbursement claims along with necessary supporting documentation within six
months of project completion date.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City will meet the obligations of the planning project
including timely publication of the results and meet the financial obligations under the lake
planning grant including the prompt payment of our 25% commitment to project costs.
