COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO
RESOLUTION #206-2008
RESOLUTION TO CREATE THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, The Committee of the Whole discussed creating a new Department of Community
th
Development on May 27, 2008; and,
WHEREAS, A Department of Community Development is recommended in order to bring
together the very Departments that are charged with reviewing, permitting, and regulating all
construction activity (public and private) with the City of Muskego; and,
WHEREAS, A Department of Community Development will help to make Muskego Government
streamlined and more effective; and,
WHEREAS, The Department of Community Development is to consist of merging the Planning,
Engineering, and Building Departments into one as per the attached structure layout; and,
WHEREAS, The Department of Community Development positions are per the attached
structure layout;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Department of Community Development is
hereby created per the attached structure layout.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That current Planning Director Jeff Muenkel, AICP is appointed
as the Department of Community Development Director and that the associated salary of this
position will be determined upon the completion of the ongoing salary study retroactive to
January 1, 2009.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the associated job descriptions of the employees in the new
Community Development Department are changed to reflect the new duties, naming, and
overall structure.
