RESOLUTION #198-2008
RESOLUTION REGARDING HEALTH INSURANCE FOR 2009
WHEREAS, The City’s consultant, HRH, has explored alternative health insurance coverage in
light of the current provider, WPS, significantly increasing its costs and the exclusion of all
Aurora providers commencing in 2009; and
WHEREAS, The Common Council authorized the Mayor to execute a contract with Humana for
health insurance coverage for 2009 with the adoption of Resolution #191-2008 subject to the
consensus of the bargaining units; and
WHEREAS, The change to Humana may result in some increases in co-payments for
prescription drugs; and
WHEREAS, The Common Council has determined that it will give each employee covered by
health insurance in 2009 a one-time payment of $200 to offset these differences; and
WHEREAS, The cost for this one-time payment will be approximately $21,000, which will be
covered by the savings in premiums by contracting with Humana.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Muskego does
hereby authorize the Mayor to provide a one-time $200 payment to all employees covered by
health insurance in 2009.
