STATE OF WISCONSIN CITY OF MUSKEGO WAUKESHA COUNTY
RESOLUTION NO. 194-2008
A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF MUSKEGO AND THE TESS CORNERS VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, in the Fall of 2006, the City of Muskego hired TriData, a division of System
Planning Corporation, to study the fire protection services within the City of Muskego, which
culminated in the Spring of 2007 in an extensive report which outlined numerous issues and
recommendations as to the organization and operation of the fire companies that operate within
the City of Muskego and their relationship to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City of Muskego Common Council, after carefully considering the
various recommendations in the consultant’s report and other fire department issues, has
determined, in its discretion, that it would be more efficient and in the best interests of the City of
Muskego for the City to provide fire protection services by contracting with a single volunteer fire
company, as described in Resolution 212-2007; and
WHEREAS, the City of Muskego Common Council has determined that it is in the best
interests of the City of Muskego for the City to contract with the Tess Corners Volunteer Fire
Company, to serve the entire City of Muskego; and
WHEREAS, an agreement that is substantially as described in the attached “First
Amendment to Agreement Between the City and the Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Department”
will allow the City to contract with the Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Company on acceptable
terms.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City
of Muskego, Waukesha County, Wisconsin that the “First Amendment to Agreement Between
the City and the Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Department” attached hereto, including the
documents incorporated as Exhibits therein, and including such minor changes as may be
approved by the Mayor in consultation with the City Attorney, is hereby approved and the Mayor
and City Clerk are authorized to sign the same, including the documents incorporated therein,
on behalf of the City, at the appropriate time to be determined by the City Attorney.
