RESOLUTION #116-2008
RESOLUTION TO
RE-ESTABLISH THE FIRE/RESCUE SERVICE COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, in November of 2007, the Common Council established an ad hoc
committee named the Fire/Rescue Service Committee as brought forward by the
Mayor in accordance with Section 2.09 (4) of the Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the Committee was charged with submitting a written report to the
Common Council by April 1, 2008 making recommendations concerning the issues
outlined in Resolution #212-2007; and
WHEREAS, the Committee reached an impasse primarily regarding the terms and
conditions of a single agreement for annual fire/rescue services and was not able to
submit any report to the Common Council by the established deadline; and
WHEREAS, the outstanding issues outlined in Resolution #212-2007 still exist and
the Mayor would like to re-establish the committee to continue working on those
issues.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City does
hereby re-establish the Fire/Rescue Service Committee subject to all the criteria in
Resolution #212-2007 with the date for the written report to the Common Council to
be January 1, 2009.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, said Fire/Rescue Service Committee shall upon
submission of the written report to the Common Council and thus completion of the
work for which said Committee is charged shall dissolve.
