RESOLUTION #043-2008
CREATION OF COMMITTEE
2020 COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, Section 2.09(4) of the Municipal Code outlines that the Mayor may appoint
special committees as he may deem advisable, and
WHEREAS, An update to the City’s 2010 Comprehensive Plan is required by Wisconsin
State Smart growth laws by the year 2010, and
WHEREAS, The City has routinely involved considerable public participation during the
adoption of Muskego’s Comprehensive Plans, and
WHEREAS, The adopted Comprehensive Planning Public Participation Policies relate
that a Comprehensive Planning Committee be created to assist staff and the City in the
implementation of the content, goals, and recommendations of a new Comprehensive
Plan thru the planning period of 2020, and
WHEREAS, Staff support to the Committee will be provided by the Planning
Department.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Common Council of the City of
Muskego does hereby determine that the 2020 Comprehensive Planning Committee
shall be a special committee of the Mayor pursuant to Section 2.09(4) of the Municipal
Code, and its composition and duties shall be as follows:
The Committee shall consist of six (6) members, one (1) of whom shall be an
alderman, one whom shall be a Planning Commission representative, one whom
shall be a Conservation Commission representative, four (4) of whom shall be
citizens.
Appointment shall be made by the Mayor and members shall serve at the discretion
of the Mayor, and
The Committee shall select a Chairman and Vice-chairman from among its
members, and shall have duties as shall be assigned by the Committee, and
Attendance of a simple majority of the members of the Committee shall be
necessary for a quorum, and
The Committee shall adopt such rules of procedure, as it deems necessary for the
conduct of its proceedings.
