APPROVAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE BUILDING SITE AND OPERATION PLAN FOR THE MUSKEGO PUBLIC LIBRARY LOCATED IN THE NW ¼ OF SECTION 10 (TAX KEY NO. 2198.979.001 / S73 W16663 JANESVILLE
ROAD)
WHEREAS, On January 2, 2007 plans were submitted by Sam Weiss for an amendment to the Building, Site and Operation Plan of the Muskego Public Library property located in the NW ¼ of
Section 10 (S73 W16663 Janesville Road / Tax Key No. 2198.979.001), and
WHEREAS, Mr. Weiss is a local Boy Scout and is working with the Muskego Public Library to build an outdoor amphitheater in the rear of the Muskego Library as part of his Eagle Scout
project, and
WHEREAS, A narrative and preliminary site plan is part of the submittal, and
WHEREAS, The amphitheater is proposed on the sloping hill in the back of the library site and a series of steps would be cut into the hill and then filled with concrete, and
WHEREAS, Two phases of construction are anticipated: Phase 1 is the completion of the stage and first 2 rows, while Phase 2 is the completion of the last 3 rows, and
WHEREAS, The theater would be wheelchair accessible in the first row, and
WHEREAS, Lighting may be proposed in the future and would have to be consistent with City standards, and
WHEREAS, Actual events and programs for the facility will be decided at later dates by the Library Board, and
WHEREAS, Construction won’t begin until proper funds are secured, and
WHEREAS, The Muskego Library Board has already recommended approval of the modification to the Library site plan and existing facilities.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission approves of an amended Building, Site and Operation Plan for the Muskego Public Library for an outdoor amphitheater located in the
NW ¼ of Section 10 (S73 W16663 Janesville Road / Tax Key No. 2198.979.001).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of said plans be kept on file in the Building Department and that all aspect of this plan shall be maintained in perpetuity unless otherwise authorized
by the Plan Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That failure to comply with the approval contained in this resolution shall result in the imposition of fines of $100 per day, the initiation of legal action,
or both.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, lighting to the site plan is limited to walkways and the hours of operation will coincide with the operation hours of the Public Library and the events will
be determined by the Head Librarian.
