APPROVAL OF ELECTRONIC SIGN CHANGE
FOR WAUKESHA STATE BANK LOCATED IN THE SW ¼ OF SECTION 2
(JANESVILLE ROAD / TAX KEY NO. 2167.995.013)
WHEREAS, On August 22, 2006 a narrative was submitted by Steve Barry of Waukesha State Bank requesting amendment to the operation of the LED on the property located in the SW ¼ of
Section 2, and
WHEREAS, The current monument sign has an LED interface that is allowed to change messages once per day as per past Plan Commission policy, and
WHEREAS, The petitioner requests to allow the message board to change once per second, and
WHEREAS, The Plan Commission recently reviewed the LED message board zoning ordinance and has recommended it change to allow the following: “Signs to be illuminated but nonflashing.
Signs shall not be revolving, scrolling, or animated; however, time-and-temperature devices may be cyclical. Approved LED devices may advertise three messages per day. The signs
may change messages or time/temperature every 5 seconds.”
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission approves amending the daily operation of the Waukesha State Bank message board signage as per the following:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the message board is allowed three messages per day, along with time/temperature with changes every 5 seconds. The sign still may not be revolving, scrolling,
or animated.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That failure to comply with the approval contained in this resolution shall result in the imposition of fines of $100 per day, the initiation of legal action,
or both.
