RESOLUTION #P.C.091-2006
RECOMMENDATION TO COUNCIL FOR VARIOUS CITY OF MUSKEGO 2010 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MAPPING AMENDMENTS
WHEREAS, On March 30, 2006 the City of Muskego Committee of the Whole instructed staff to prepare 2010 Comprehensive Plan mapping amendments in order to better represent the current
flavor of development in the City of Muskego, and
WHEREAS, The attached map amendment was one of the four amendment areas that the Committee of the Whole recommended to go thru the formal amendment process, and
WHEREAS, The attached amendment is located south of Woods Road from the Muskego High School going north to just west of Bay Lane Drive, and
WHEREAS, The area is currently shown in the Comprehensive Plan as Medium Density Residential consistent with the densities found in the RS-2 and RS-3 zoning districts (20,000-30,000
square foot parcels), and
WHEREAS, The proposal is to change this entire area to remain a Medium Density Residential (1.5-3.99 units an acre) with the southwest portion to be a Low Density Residential (.5
– 1.49 units an acre), and
WHEREAS, The Common Council recommended the attached map amendment for reasons including: To further protect the lakes from high density development; To establish new boundaries of
future higher density development; And, to represent the current feelings for future development of the elected officials and constituents living in and around the affected areas,
and
WHEREAS, A public hearing was scheduled and heard in front of the Common Council on May 9, 2006.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission recommends approval of the attached 2010 Plan Map amendments.
