RECOMMENDATION TO COUNCIL FOR VARIOUS CITY OF MUSKEGO 2010 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MAPPING AMENDMENTS
WHEREAS, On March 30, 2006 the City of Muskego Committee of the Whole instructed staff to prepare 2010 Comprehensive Plan mapping amendments in order to better represent the current
flavor of development in the City of Muskego, and
WHEREAS, The Committee of the Whole recommended the attached map amendments to go thru the formal amendment process, and
WHEREAS, The Committee of the Whole recommended the attached map amendments for reasons including: to further protect the lakes from high density development, to establish new boundaries
of future higher density development, and to represent the current feelings for future development of the elected officials and constituents living in and around the affected areas,
and
WHEREAS, The amendments include four major areas of density changes along with an overall combination of residential and commercial districts to allow for improved control of future
development in the City, and
WHEREAS, The Committee of the Whole discussed at their May 25, 2006 meeting to move ahead with the changes to the area southwest of Lake Denoon and the area southeast of Big Muskego
Lake while holding off on the other two northern areas until further info was provided,
WHEREAS, The Committee of the Whole discussed at their May 25, 2006 meeting to change the original amendments to the area located southeast of Big Muskego Lake to revert back to the
existing Comprehensive Plan densities around the Thode Drive area, while leaving the proposed amendments in place for the rest of the area,
WHEREAS, A public hearing was scheduled in front of the Common Council on May 9, 2006.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission recommends approval of the attached 2010 Plan Map amendments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Planning Commission recommends approval of the 2010 Plan Map amendments for only the southern boundary areas as per the amended map attached. The
northern boundary areas recommendation will come from Planning Commission by separate resolution once further information is delivered.
