REPORT FROM POLICE CHIEF OR HIS DESIGNEE CLOSED SESSION ctv 0'f SKEGO Following conclusion of consideration of the above portion of its regularly scheduled agenda, the Police and Fire Commission will meet to vote on a motion to convene in Closed Session for the purpose of interviewing candidates for the position of police officer. A closed session for the above purpose is authorized pursuant to the provisions of Wisconsin State Statute, Section 19.85 (1) (C ): Considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Upon conclusion of the Closed Session, the Police and Fire Commission will convene in Open Session to consider its public agenda, including motions to recommend approval or rejection of the above -listed deliberations or any of the public agenda items that have not been acted upon. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL Commissioners Kuspa, Jaske, Boyer, Hauboldt and Hammitt were present. Chief Westphal, Captain Fons and Lieutenant Diedrich were also in attendance. STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Boyer made a motion to approve the minutes from 05/13/25; 05/27/25; 05/29/25; 06/26/25; 07/21/25. Commissioner Hammitt seconded. Motion passed. REPORT FROM THE POLICE CHIEF OR HIS DESIGNEE Chief Westphal advised the commission that he was extremely appreciative of the officer and dispatchers of the police department, as well as the fire department for the hard work they did during the flood and how meaningful their work is to the community at a time like this. This year's Tunnels to Towers Award was present to Officer Marcus Klink for his dedication to our drone program. His countless hours of work with our drone program/SCIT TRG and our Cadet Program. Chief was satisfied with the changes that were made a few years ago to change the route of the parade for Dandelion Daze and how it is paramount to keep Racine Avenue open for emergencies, as well as the safety and security of the parade attendees. School starts next week and the SRO's will go back to their normal schedules. Officers' Primus and Lemmon are doing well at the academy. Officers Alvarado and Morrissey are in their second week of Field Training and doing well. We currently have three backgrounds out for spots for the January academy. NEW BUSINESS Approval of Marcus Klink to Sergeant. Commissioner Hammitt made a motion to approve the promotion. Commissioner Boyer seconded. Motion passed all in favor.
