RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT RECEIPT OF GRANT FUNDING
FROM THE WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
THROUGH ITS RECREATIONAL BOATING FACILITIES PROGRAM
Idle Isle Boat Launch Replacement
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) has an Outdoor Recreational
Aids Grant Program under the title of Recreational Boating Facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Muskego applied for a grant under this program and has been awarded
$150,000.00 (up to 50% of the total project cost); a copy of the letter and Outdoor Recreation Aids
Grant Agreement from the WDNR is attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the award of grant was presented by City staff to the Common Council at the
Committee of the Whole meeting on September 17, 2024; that Council requested to see a copy of
the grant application materials prior to accepting the grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Muskego will utilize the Recreational Boating Facilities funding to replace the
existing boat launch at Idle Isle; and
WHEREAS, the grant will tremendously aid the City of Muskego in offsetting the costs for the
proposed overall project at Idle Isle.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Muskego, upon the
recommendation of the Finance Committee, does hereby support receiving the grant of funding from
the WDNR through its Recreational Boating Facilities Program in the amount of $150,000.00 to
replace the existing boat launch at Idle Isle.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute the necessary documents in
the name of the City in order to accept the grant and the City Attorney is authorized to make
substantive changes to said documents as may be necessary in order to preserve the general intent
thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to sign such substantive changes made
by the City Attorney.
