APPROVAL OF MINUTES Karl moved to approve minutes from June 29, 2023. Greg 2nd, carried
by all.
VOUCHER APPROVAL
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Current status of lake (water levels, ice, fish and wildlife). It was noted that water levels
were low in summer but returned to normal by fall. Currently the lake level is about 4
inches above the dam sill, but some of that depth may be due to ice. Ice cover is now
about 12 inches and maybe a little less on Bass Bay. Fishing activity only recently
commenced with development of safe icy. Snowmobiles and ATVs are traveling in many
areas. Greg noted that milfoil was observed to have decreased, possibly due to a high
turbidity in the fall.
2. Discuss DNR land acquisition. The DNR closed on the acquisition on the 30 of the 40
acres on Prigel dr. for $525,000. The Lake District financially assisted in this purchase
providing $80,000.
3. Future project ideas. Plan is to burn at least 1 of the 3 treated cattails islands on BML in
the spring and re -seed the islands with native seed. Cattail islands were previously treated
to reduce the encroachment of invasive species. Discussed the state of the 5 Osprey
platforms which are all significantly leaning and considered a potential plan for restoring or
replacing parts of the platforms. 3 of the 5 Osprey nesting platforms were utilized in 2023.
Tom K suggested that other user groups, kayakers and snowmobilers pay fees at boat
launch.
NEW BUSINESS

volunteered for secretary.
