2024-2027 Strategic Planning
43
• Design is confined to the organizational template of the website
provider
• Colors need to maintain branding of Library
• Focus of the study will be analyzing how information is
organized, terminology used, and if there is missing or
unnecessary information.
44
• Usability study volunteers (testers) will be approached from existing computer
users and, if possible, non -user volunteers.
• The study will run no longer than 5-8 minutes to make it viable to recruit testers.
• The usability study will be made of three components:
• WORKFLOW ANALYSIS
• ERROR DETECTION
• ANALYTICS REVIEW
• Patrons using the computers will be approached to be testers
and take a five minute "Workflow Analysis"
• Testers are given a prompt and then they attempt to complete
the prompt
• The conductor of the study will monitor the workflow, and
note whether the testes was successful, how complex of a
process it was, assumptions made that created misdirection (if
it occurred) to another area of the website.
46
• Library staff will review all areas of the website. This analysis
will look for:
• Broken links
• Site errors
• Grammar issues
• Reduction of confusing terminology
• Dated or incorrect information
Library staff will study the available analytics of the website
software
• Trends will be noted to assist with possible improvements
48
