BMLBC Minutes Approved 20220322APPROVED CITY OF MUSKEGO BIG MUSKEGO LAKE DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AGENDA 03/22/2022 5:55 PM Muskego City Hall, W182 S8200 Racine Avenue CALL TO ORDER Mayor Petfalski called the meeting to order at 6:05 PM. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL Present: Chairman Petfalski, Commissioners Madden, Engelhardt, Kubacki, Terrence, Hammel and Wolfe. Absent: Commissioner Kapusta. STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE This meeting was noticed in accordance with the open meeting law. APPROVAL OF MINNUTES January 25, 2022 Commissioner Madden moved to approve the October 26, 2021 Minutes. Commissioner Hammel seconded; motion carried. VOUCHER APPROVAL - none UNFINISHED BUSINESS none NEW BUSINESS Election of Secretary - Kerri Roller, Deputy Clerk Commissioner Kubacki moved to approve Kerri Roller, Deputy Clerk as the Secretary. Commissioner Wolfe seconded; motion carried. Deputy Commissioner's Update - Current Condition of Lake/Bay, Water Levels, Plant Growth, Fish and Wildlife. Greg Burmeister, Deputy Commissioner, noted that the ice went out last week on schedule. When the ice goes out the wildlife including waterfowl provided quite a spectacle. The Recreation Department hosted a kayak trip on the lake and saw roughly 25 different species of ducks, geese and swans. Thousands of birds were there. In the spring there were six eaglets around last year along with mature eagles in the area. The lake is up three inches and Tom Zagar, the City Forester and Conservation Specialist was looking to lower the dam to restore the normal lake levels. Many jamborees took place on the lake over the winter. There will likely be a lot of weed growth due to the lack of snow. Shoreline damage occurred on east side of the lake caused by the ice. Authorization for Chair to sign Water Management Agreement with Innovative Water Care, LLC. (dba Marine Biochemists). Commissioner Madden moved to approve authorization for chair to sign water management agreement with Innovative Water Care, LLC. (dba Marine Biochemists). Commissioner Wolfe seconded; motion carried.
