MINUTES OF MEETING HELD OCTOBER 8, 1992
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman
Taube. Also present were Committee Members Dumke and Simmons,
Ald. Misko and Chief Johnson.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted.
The Committee continued discussion on the Sign Ordinance. Ald.
Misko presented a package of sign ordinances from other
communities and it was decided that Ald. Misko will compile all
information onto a summary sheet to use as a guideline. The
Committee will continue review for the next two meetings.
Ald. Taube presented a sample of a conceptual ordinance
regarding purchasing American -Made materials and he will review
with Attorney Molter.
Chief Johnson reviewed with the Committee his proposed
ordinance to address a growing problem regarding juvenile
runaways. Ald. Simmons moved to send the proposed ordinance to
Attorney Molter to review language and to suggest appropriate
chapter and section for insertion.
• Chief Johnson also brought to the Committee's attention that
people have been dumping household trash in the City Hall's
trash dumpster prematurely filling the dumpster. Chief is
suggesting that an ordinance be adopted making illegal the
dumping of trash into someone else's container or on some
else's property, with a suggested forfeiture amount of $50.00
for the first violation and $100.00 for second and subsequent
violations. The Committee determined that Chief Johnson's
memorandum with suggested language be sent to Attorney Molter
to also review language and to suggest appropriate chapter and
section for insertion.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 P.M.
