RLO19910912• RULES, LAWS & ORDINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 12, 1991 The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. by Chairman H. Sanders. Also present were Committee Members Patterson and Taube, Mayor Salentine and those per the attached list. The Committee further discussed proposed amendment to Chapter 15 of the Municipal Code to eliminate Chapter 15, Section 15.12, Examining Board, Licenses and Certificates. The City has not received any applications in the past three (3) years due to the majority of electricians obtaining State licenses which allows them to work in all communities. Ald. Patterson moved to recommend amending the Municipal Code to delete Chapter 15, Section 15.12. Seconded by Ald. H. Sanders, motion carried. The Committee reviewed additional correspondence from Chief Johnson, dated September 10, 1991, explaining that the request to adopt Chapter 30 of the State Statutes into the City of Muskego's Chapter 20.01 is to insure that all violations of boating laws within the City of Muskego be prosecuted within our Municipal Court. Presently certain boating violations are not covered by our Code and, therefore, are prosecuted in County Court causing • citizens the inconvenience of having to go to the County Court. This also increases Police Department costs with officers having to attend trials in Waukesha rather than Muskego. The fine monies from cases would then go to Muskego rather than Waukesha County. Ald. H. Sanders moved to recommend amending Chapter 20 of the City of Muskego's Municipal Code to adopt Chapter 30 of the State Statutes, in its entirety. Seconded by Ald. Patterson, motion carried. The Committee discussed revising existing Ethic Code for the City of Muskego. After much discussion it was agreed that this issue will not be resolved in one meeting. The Committee is requesting ethics code from New Berlin, Franklin, Brookfield and Menomonee Falls. The Committee discussed blockage of solar panels/solar dishes and is requesting that New Berlin, Franklin, Brookfield and Menomonee Falls be contacted to secure copies of their codes on each of the above items. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 P.M. Respectfully submitted, . Ald. David D. Taube ca Secretary
