RLO19860611RULES, LAWS & ORDINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 11, 1986 • The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dumke at 8:00 P.M. Also present were Committee Members Patterson and Taube, Mayor Salentine, Chief Johnson and Tony Zinski. The Committee reviewed Snowmobiling Ordinance. Ald. Taube moved to direct the City Attorney to draft an ordinance to amend Chapter 24 of the Municipal Code to cross-reference Chapter 26 of the Municipal Code relating to snowmobiling in city parks. Seconded by Ald. Patterson, motion carried. The Committee discussed parking of commercial trucks in residential areas. Mr. Zinski expressed dissatisfaction with lack of clarity on weight limits of commercial trucks in residential areas. Ald. Patterson moved to request that Supt. Bertram supply the Committee with a report stating what vehicle weight should be allowed on city roads, including clarification of Section 7.06(2) as to 6,000 lbs. being a realistic weight for non -heavy traffic routes. Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried. The Committee will discuss this matter at the July meeting at which time they expect to obtain a legal opinion from the Judge and the City Attorney. The Committee reviewed correspondence from the City Clerk's office requesting a clarification of Chapter 11.04 of the • Municipal Code relating to Garbage and Refuse Haulers fee. Ald. Patterson moved to direct the City Attorney to draft an ordinance deleting 11.04(g) which allows for the proration of refuse hauling fees. Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried. Correspondence received from Lt. Gifford of the Police Department regarding a suggested inclusion into proposed Ordinance #554, Disposal of Abandoned Property, was discussed. Ald. Patterson moved to amend proposed Ordinance #554 to add (G) - Return to the person(s) who turned the item in to the Police Department if requested and no rightful owner can be located. Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried. The Committee reviewed the Cable Ordinance and approved as written. The Committee reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting and placed on file.
