MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 10, 1986
• The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dumke at 8:37 P.M.
Also present were Committee Members Taube and Patterson, Mayor
Salentine and Mr. Wil Vidal.
The Committee reviewed correspondence of February 17, 1986 from
the City Attorney regarding proposed changes to the Liquor
License Ordinance. Ald. Patterson moved to delete last sentence
on page 4 (An annual inspection shall be made by the Police
Department, Building Inspector and the Fire Inspector and their
report filed with the Common Council prior to Granting of any
license or renewal thereof.) and recommend Council approval.
Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried.
Attorney Molter's letter on proposed ordinance for disposing of
property was discussed. Ald. Patterson moved to direct the City
Attorney to draft an ordinance to incorporate the following:
Authorizing the Police Chief to hold inventory for 30 days,
then donate to City Department or hold for auction. The
City should find some non-profit organization to store the
items and hold an auction when necessary. Fees to
organization, or percent of auction, to be determined in
negotiations with non-profit organization. If not sold at
auction, the Police are authorized to give to a charity
organization or dispose of.
• Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried.
Mr. Wil Vidal, Little Muskego Lake Association, appeared before
the Committee to request the City to adopt a Soil Erosion
Ordinance. Ald. Patterson moved to defer until the proposed Soil
Erosion Ordinance can be compared to what the City has adopted by
the Building Inspector and Highway Superintendent. The Building
Inspector is directed to check with the City of Madison and City
of Middleton on success of the proposed program and how it could
be improved. The Building Inspector is then requested to respond
in writing to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee for their
April meeting with suggestions as to how the City can strengthen
our existing ordinance. Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried.
The Committee reviewed the Police Department's request to adopt
Wisconsin State Statute Chapter 350 in its entirety. This state
statute chapter deals with snowmobile operation. Ald. Taube
moved to direct the City Attorney to draft the proper
ordinance. Seconded by Ald. Patterson, motion carried.
The minutes of the past meeting were reviewed and placed on file.
The meeting adjourned at 9:55 P.M.
