MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 23, 1984
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Dumke.
Also present were Committee Members Gaetzke and Nilsson, and Lt.
Zabel.
The Committee discussed Chapter 12.03 of the Municipal Code
regarding Transient Merchant Ordinance. The Committee
recommended that Lt. Johnson's letter dated March 29, 1984 be
forwarded to the City Attorney for his review. Ald. Gaetzke
moved to incorporate a new fee and tax structure in paragraph 7
of the ordinance eliminating the daily, weekly and monthly charge
and making the annual charge $50.00 per year for Peddler or
Solicitor and $100.00 per year for the Transient Merchant. Ald.
Nilsson seconded and the motion carried.
The Committee recommended that the City Attorney rewrite Chapter
12.03 to incorporate the suggestions of Lt. Johnson as well as
the new fee structure.
The Committee reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting.
• The Committee discussed sale of Packaged Goods by Class B license
holders. Ald. Gaetzke moved to refer State Statute 125.51 (3)
(a),(b), and (c) to the City Attorney for review and drafting of
an Ordinance to amend Chapter 12.01 to permit the sale of
packaged goods by Class B license holders. Ald. Nilsson seconded
and the motion carried.
The Committee discussed Chapter 30 of the Municipal Code. Ald.
Nilsson moved to revise Chapter XI Garage and Accessory
Buildings, by adding (1) c. An accessory building shall conform
to all requirements of this chapter. Ald. Gaetzke seconded and
the motion carried.
Ald. Gaetzke moved, Ald. Nilsson seconded to adjourn at 7:50 P.M.
