• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD 11/13/80
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P M. by Chairman Dumke Also
present were Committee Members Knudsen and Radtke, Aldermen Salentine,
Weed, Dumke and Steinberg and Mayor Gottfried.
The following persons were also present at the meeting

• The Majority Report was reviewed by members of the Citizens
Government Structure Committee that issued the report, All
members that were present gave a short presentation of part of
the report,
Ater the members of the committee presented their report
three guests were invited to give a short explanation on the
merits of a city administrator,
The first was the City Administrator of Wauwautosa (Mr, Little),
His viewed centerd around how they went to a city administrator
type of arrangement, He noted that as key personnel retired or
resigned the city administrator was able to assume their respon-
sibility and thus saved money in not having to hire replacement
personnel
The second guest was Kevin O'Donnell, Village Administrator of
West Milwaukee, In his presentation he noted the money saved
by the installation of a Village Administrator, This included
all the way from a computer consortium to public works projects.
The third was Henry Mixter, President of the Village of Whitefish
Bay, He described how their administrator came into being and
how the administrator inter -acted between the elected officials.
• Following a question and answer period by everyone, Ald, Knudsen
moved to recommend to the Common Council that a referendum be
held and that the question should be asked of the people of the
City of Muskego, should the City of Muskego go into a city admin-
istrator type of government? Seconded by Ald, Radtke, After a
lengthy discussion the motion carried,
The meeting adjourned at 10:27 P.M.
