RLO198008084 n LJ RULES, LAWS & ORDINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 8, 1980 The meeting was called to order at 8:12 P.M. by Chairman Dumke. Also present were Committee Members Radtke and Knudsen, Ald. Steinberg, Mayor Gottfried, Police Chief Scholz, Lt. Zabel and City Attorney Molter. Police Chief Scholz discussed with the committee the possibility of adopting an ordinance which would prohibit drinking in public places. The ordinance from the City of Waukesha was reviewed. They expressed concerns that this ordinance may be too restrictive. Mayor Gottfried advised the committee that he will present his recommendations regarding such an ordinance at the next meeting. ------ The committee discussed the proposed cable TV ordinance with City Attorney Molter. Ald. Steinberg presented the committee with materials and information he had acquired while attending a conference on cable TV in Milwaukee. The committee agreed the -,'best procedure to follow was to agree on a preliminary ordinance with the understanding a final ordinance will be presented to the Council after the cable TV company has been chosen to serve the city. Ald. Knudsen moved to approve the drafted Ordinance #388 on cable TV. Seconded by Ald. Radtke. Motion carried. It is the committee's opinion to use the proposed drafted ordinance as guidelines for the Welfare Committee to interview the cable TV applicants. Discussion took placed on proposed amendments to Chapter 18 (Land Division Ordinance) and Chapter 16 (Holding Tanks). Ald. Radtke moved to recommend to the Common Council approval of Ordinance #392 and Ordinances #393, #394, #395, #396 and #397, all relating to Chapter 18 of .the -Municipal Code. _Seconded by Ald._ Dumke, Motion carried. The committee discussed the question of whether or not kite flying is covered under Section 20.03 of the Municipal Code. The matter will be considered again at the next meeting of the committee. Ald.
