RLO19780809WULES, LAWS & ORDINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 9, 1978 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pienkos at 8:19 P.M. Also present were Committee Members Wallner and Tomczyk, Mayor Gottfried and Police Chief Kraus. • Ald. Tomczyk moved to accept the minutes of the previous meeting as presented at the Council meeting. Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion carried. The committee reviewed once again the model ordinance regulating direct sales (transient merchants) which the city received from the Attorney General's office. Ald. Wallner moved to send the model ordinance to Attorney Buckley directing him to draft a similar ordinance which can be used by the City of Muskego. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk, motion carried. Mayor Gottfried read a communication from City Attorney Buckley regarding excessive noises created by motorboats. Action on this matter was deferred to a future meeting. ioAfter reviewing once again the ordinance regarding motorized vehicles n ice rinks submitted by Attorney Buckley to determine whether or not existing ordinances could possibly take care of the problem and if not to discuss the questionable wording of the proposed ordinance with Mr. Buckley. A discussion was held regarding the proposed amendments to the city's Land Division Ordinance. Several changes were suggested by the committee along with a recommendation that a $200.00 per lot fee be established. Ald. Tomczyk moved to approve the proposed ordinance and to forward same to the Plan Commission and Park and Recreation Board for their consideration. Seconded by Ald. Pienkos. Motion carried with Ald. Wallner voting "no". The committee discussed whether or not there was a need to develop an ordinance prohibiting excessive noise in the city. Upon reviewing Section 9.07 of the Municipal Code involving the prohibition of excessive noises it was felt that our present regulations were adequate. Mrs. Harold Sanders appeared before the committee to discuss problems which could occur as a result of storage of gasoline tanks underground in residential areas. Mayor Gottfried was directed to contact surround- ing communities to determine whether or not they have ordinances prohib- iting this practice. % There being no further business, Ald.
