MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 24, 1977
The meeting was called to order by Acting Chairman Wallner at
9:31 P.M. Also present was committee member Van Lanen, Mayor
Gottfried, Building Inspector Lee and citizens as shown on the
attached list.
The minutes of the meeting held August 10, 1977, were reviewed and
placed on file.
Further discusson on the LeFever weed problem was deferred pending
an opinion from City Attorney Buckley regarding the matter.
Further review of the proposed alarm system ordinance will take
place when the implementing ordinance is submitted by City Attorney
Buckley.
Mayor Gottfried advised the committee that Chief Kraus will be
implementing a policy of advising citizens who bring their animals
in for disposal of the three choices available to them.
The amendment to Ordinance #195 will be reviewed once it is received
from City Attorney Buckley's office.
•A d i scussion with Mr. Pischke regarding the intrepretation of
rules and regulations for the use of the city parks will be held during
his appearance at the Welfare Committee meeting held on August 14,
1977. Mr. Pischke will also discuss at that time the ci.ty's
responsibility regarding public accesses on Little Muskego Lake
and the matter of consumming fermented malt beverages at baseball
games.
Discussion on the proposed amendments to Ch. 17 of the Municipal
Code (Re signs) was deferred until a future date. It was suggested
that a full night of review might be necessary in order that the
committee can give the matter its complete attention. Mayor Gottfried
will discuss an alternate date and time with Ch. ford. Mayor
Gottfried also suggested that perhaps the Plan Commission should
consider adopting the contents of the proposed ordinance change
as a policy thus eliminating the need for amendments to the municipal
code.
Discussion on the posting of regulations of boats on lakes in the
city will be deferred until Ald. Ford is available.
Proposed Ordinance #333 was reviewed by the committee. The ordinance
is an amendment to Chapter 13.01(1) of the Municipal Code to clarify
the number of dogs permitted in a household. The committee agreed
that 10 days is sufficient time to conform to the new ordinance if
•it is adopted. Ald. Van Lanen moved to recommend Council approval
of Ordinance #333. Seconded by Ald Wallner, motion carried.
Ordinance #334, providing for an inspection fee of $2.00 when water
meters are required was reviewed by the committee. Ald. Van Lanen
moved to recommend adoption of the proposed ordinance to the Common
Council. Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion carried.
Building Inspector Lee advised that he had contacted SEWRPC to
determine whether or not the data compiled by the use of a digital
computer would be of any help to the city in determining the status
of water tables used by shallow wells (.l.es:; than 5001) Re will
give a full report of the results of his meeting with SliPJRPC at the
next Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee meeL.ing.
Ald. Van Lanen moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion
carried. The meeting adjourned at 10:05 P M.
