RLO19720810RULES, LAWS & ORDINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 10, 1972 The meeting was called to order at 9:35 P.M. Present were Committee members Ford and Knudsen, Mayor Gottfried and Building Inspector Lee. Ald. DeBack was absent. Ald. Knudsen moved to recommend that the Common Council amend Sec. 9:01 (3)(c) of the Muskego Municipal Code to read as follows: • "No target, trap, or skeet shooting shall be conducted between the hours of 10:30 P.M. and 10:00 A.M., unless specifically authorized by the Common Council for special events." Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion carried." • • 11 Ald. Knudsen reported that he had contacted Limnetics, Inc. regarding a testing program for noise pollution. Ald. Knudsen agreed to gather information about what other U. S. and European communities are doing to solve noise pollution and report back to the committee. A general discussion of the proposed pool ordinance took place. Mayor Gottfried will forward our recommendations and a copy of Franklin's Pool Ordinance to Attorney Buckley with instructions to draft a sample ordinance. Mayor Gottfried reported that he has asked Attorney Buckley to review the Preservation of Topography Ordinance and to advise how this ordinance might be used to regulate fill projects. Ald. Knudsen again suggested that Ordinance #195 as it relates to fees for a Dump Refuse License be amended so that charges are made on the basis of weight per truck. No action was taken. The Committee reviewed Chapter 131 of the State Statutes relating to abandoned motor vehicles which was published Nov. 16, 1971, Mayor Gottfried agreed to ask Attorney Buckley to review same in light of our existing ordinances and to make any necessary changes to conform to the State law. Building Inspector Lee presented the Committee with fire prevention codes from other communities. Mr. Lee will review these codes and draft a sample code for Muskego. Ald.
