MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 13, 1971
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Narlock at 8:40 P.M. Also
present were Aldermen Dumke, Foldy, City Attorney Buckley and Building
Inspector Lee.
Mr. Carl Wauer was present at the meeting to discuss the Landfill
Disposal site.
Mr. Wauer said the hours of operation of the dump by Acme Disposal are
presently 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. in the winter and 6:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
in the summer, Monday thru Friday and 6:00 A.M. to Noon on Saturddy.
Section 3 - Annual Permit Fee was discussed and no decision was reached.
Section 7 a - Regulation - was discussed regarding kcreening agreement
by rapidly growing trees, etc.
Section 9 - Existing non -conforming dumps. The cover operation shall
be completed within 15 working days after issue of special permit. This
could be modified for a longer length of time.
Section 10 - Disposal of tonic waste. Mayor Gottfried to write to Acme
Disposal regarding the paint hazard. He will also check with Attorney
Buckley.
16 The Ordinance Requiring the Licensing of Vehicles and Used in the
Transporting and Dumping of Garbage and Refuse With the City, was
discussed. The following recommendations were made:
(a) Permit Required. The fee of $50.00 per truck changed to a
flat fee instead of each truck and changed to collection and
dumping of garbage, not transportation of garbage.
(e) Concerning truck to be covered - All garbage hauled upon
the streets or highways in the city shall be covered and all
other material shall be so loaded so as to prevent any loss
thereof while being transported.
(g) Penalty - To be checked with Attorney Buckley regarding
enforcing this section of the ordinance.
License - to be $10.00 per truck with a maximum of $100.00
each hauler.
It was suggested that all haulers with more than ten trucks shall have
a fleet number and list of license numbers of each truck shall be
provided to City Clerk. Those with ten trucks or less shall be issued
a permit number for each truck.
46 Mr. Lee explained the proposed changes concerning the Building Code.
Ald. Foldy moved that the proposed changes be recommended to the Council
for adoption. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
Ald. Foldy moved to change Ordinance #161, Section 7, to read:
"All proposed recommendations by the Watershed Commission shall be
referred to the Common Council for consideration". Seconded by Ald.
Narlock. Motion carried.
,Ald. Narlock moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Foldy. Motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 11:12 P.M.
