• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 18, 1969
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Narlock at 7:34 P.M. Also
present were Mayor Wieselmann, Ald. Bergermeister and Ald. Sapp.
The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file.
Mayor Wieselmann advised the Committee that City Attorney Buckley
will handle the details regarding Ordinance #147, Street Excavations,
and report back to both this Committee and the Public Works Committee.
Regarding the letter from the National Institute of Municipal Law
Officers, Ald. Bergermeister advised that he was unable to reach
Congressman Davis, therefore, this Committee will attempt to seek
additional information in order to inform the Common Council.
With reference to the Police Department's request regarding accelerating
vehicles, Mayor Wieselmann advised that Municipal Justice Wittbrot
recommended that this ordinance be drafted exactly as the copy from
the City of Waukesha to allow enforcement.
•The City's Firearms Ordinance was discussed at length. It was the
decision of the Committee not to change the Ordinance, but to encourage
the citizens who are having problems to make reports directly to the
Police Dept and to sign complaints when necessary.
Ald. Burgermeister requested that City Attorney Buckley be reminded
to complete his work regarding the updating of the Boating Ordinance
as requested by Lt. Kass.
Ald. Burgermeister moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Sapp. Motion
carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 P.M.
