• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 18, 1968
The regular meeting of the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee was called
to order by Chairman Wollman. Also present were Alderman Narlock,
Alderman Joost, Mayor Gottfried and Building Inspector Lee.
• The Minutes of the previous meeting held on January 4, 1968, were read.
The Minutes were approved, as corrected, and will be placed on file.
The correction was to add "Alderman Lentini left the meeting before
the discussion on litter began".
The Sign Code was discussed with Building Inspector Lee. Alderman
Narlock moved to have a final draft, with corrections and additions,
of the Sign Code prepared by the City Attorney. Seconded by Chairman
Wollman. Motion carried.
The Electrical Code was discussed with Building Inspector Lee. Chairman
Wollman moved to have a final draft of the Electrical Code prepared and
to recommend to the Council that a public hearing be set as soon as
legally possible. Seconded by Alderman Joost, motion carried.
Two letters from City Attorney Hippenmeyer were read. Both letters
referred to private use of public property. Building Inspector Lee
• will investigate the problem further.
A letter regulating motor driven cycles from the State was read.
Building Inspector Lee left the meeting at 8:46 P.M.
A letter regulating snowmobiles from the State was read. A letter from
City Attorney Hippenmeyer referring to regulating snowmobiles was also
read. A request to hold a "snowmobile derby" was received. The
applicant will be asked to appear before this Committee.
A letter from Police Chief Kraus referring to parking problems was
read. The problem will be discussed again at our next meeting.
Truck parking in the City was discussed again briefly.
Methods of electing the two Council representatives to the Special
Committee created by Ordinance #81 were discussed. It is the concensus
of this Committee that election should be by secret ballot as used in
electing the Council President.
Alderman Joost moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Alderman
Narlock, motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
