RLO19671120RULES, LAWS & ORDINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 20, 1967 The regular meeting of the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee was called to order at 8:20 P.M. by Chairman Wollman. Also present were Alderman Joost and Mayor Gottfried. • Also present at the meeting was Mr. W. A. Bechthold, Mr. Wm. Retzlaff, Mr. Roy Lekfield, Chairman of the Town of Vernon, Mr. J. Bauer, Super- visor of the Town of Vernon and Mrs. L. Haverberg. The minutes of the previous meeting held on November 9, 1967, were read. The minutes were accepted as read and will be placed on file. Ordinance #84, referring to the annexation of lands from the Town of Vernon to the City of Muskego, was brought before the Committee. Mr. Roy Lekfield, Mr. J. Bauer and Mrs. Haverberg all spoke in opposition of the Council's approval of Ordinance #84. Alderman Frank Narlock joined the meeting at 8:35 P.M. at the adjourn- ment of the Safety Committee meeting. Mr. W. A. Bechthold spoke in favor of the adoption of Ordinance #84. • Mr. Wm. Retzlaff also spoke in favor of the ordinance. Alderman Narlock moved to recommend the adoption of Ordinance #84 to the Council. Seconded by Chairman Wollman, motion carried. Ordinance #85, referring to the Appropriation of Funds for the Operation of Government and Administration of the City of Muskego for the year 1968, was discussed at great length. Ordinance #86, Salary Ordinance, was also discussed at some length. Alderman Joost moved to recommend to the Council the adoption of Ordinance #86 as amended by the Safety Committee. Seconded by Alder- man Narlock, motion carried. Alderman Narlock moved to recommend to the Council the adoption of Ordinance #87, amending Sec. 12.09 (8) of the Municipal Code to read as follows: "(8) NUMBER OF DOGS LIMITED No owner of premises whether occupied by him or not shall permit the keeping of more than two dogs over the age of five months on his premises unless the premises are zoned • "Agricultural" under the City zoning ordinance or unless the dogs are kept in a licensed kennel. No owner of a dog shall keep a dog on premises in the City if it will cause a violation of the foregoing provision by the owner of the premises." This recommendation submitted by City Attorney Hippenmeyer. Motion oreconded by Chairman Wollman and carried. An ordinance referring to "noxious weeds" will be forwarded to the City Attorney. Chairman Wollman moved to recommend to the Council that the Municipal Code be amended to allow nine Class "A" Fermented Malt Beverage Licenses within the City. Seconded by Alderman Joost and carried.
