MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 18, 1966
Chairman Weaver called the regular meeting of the Rules, Laws &
Ordinance Committee to order at 7:05 P.M. Present were Chairman
Weaver, Alderman Wollman and Alderman Joost. Mayor Gottfried was
also present.
Mr. Sundby of Municipal Ordinances Service, Inc. appeared to explain
his service. A list of the cities Mr. Sundby has servicedwill be
placed on file with the minutes. A copy of his basic agreement
will also be on file. The City of Greenfield's cost for codif-
ication was slightly over $4200.00. Mr. Sundby said he felt our
cost would be similar. A complete contract will be forwarded to
us by Mr. Sundby for our consideration.
Council President Wieselmann arrived at 7:40 P.M. to discuss
Ordinance #47 referring to firearms. Council President Wieselmann
suggested that we change the following: Sec. I. para. 3, the
word "shot uns" to "firearms", Sec. I, para 3, subsection (c)
the words as a substantial means of his livelihood" be deleted.
Sec. II, sentence 10 the words "be used or permitted. to be used"
be deleted, and that the words "for the purpose of" replace the
word "as" after ".leased or hired".
• The Committee discussed Council President's Wieselmannts suggestions
at great length.
Chairman Weaver moved to recommend the word "commercial" be added
to Sec. II after the words "Regulations for", and the words "had
to him" be added before the word "executed" in Sec., para 3.
Ordinance #50 was discussed. Alderman Wollman moved to recommend
adoption to the Council. Seconded by Chairman Weaver. Motion
carried.
Codification was discussed again. Copies of Mr. Sundbyts contract
will be made available to the Council shortly.
The Subdivision Control Ordinance was discussed again.
Alderman Joost moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Alderman
Wollman. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 10:15 P.M.
