• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON JULY 7, 1966.
The regular meeting of the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee
was called to order at 7:40 P.M. Present were Chairman Weaver,
Alderman Wollman, Alderman Joost and Mayor Gottfried.
Chairman Weaver reported on the Wauer dump site fire. The
Welfare Committee has taken action on the problem.
' Ordinance #48 pertaining to water skiing was reviewed.
The Firearms Ordinance #47 was discussed at some length. Chairman
Weaver moved that we recommend adoption by the Common Council,
seconded by Alderman Wollman. Motion carried.
Charter Ordinance #11 was discussed and the Committee felt they
were correct in recommending the Ordinance as introduced.
Council President Wieselmann arrived at 9:00 P.M. to discuss the
amendment to Ordinance #41 regarding political signs. After
lengthy discussion it was decided to study the ordinance further
and ask the Council for more time to do so.
The drafting of an ordinance pertaining to dead trees was dis-
cussed. Chairman Weaver will contact other municipalities
• for information on what they have done with the problem. If
necessary, Attorney Hippenmeyer will also be contacted.
Codification was discussed. It was decided to contact several
law firms familiar with municipal law as to cost and handling
procedures.
Ald. Joost moved to recommend adoption of Ordinance #35 controlling
and licensing of public dance halls. Chairman Weaver seconded the
motion and it carried.
The Transient Merchant's Ordinance was discussed and will be
studied further at the next meeting.
The Subdivision Control Ordinance will be taken up at our next
meeting also.
Ald. Joost move for adjournment, seconded by Alderman Wollmang
and the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 10:50 P.M.
