MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 17, 1966
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Wolf. Mayor Gottfried
and Aldermen DeAngelis and Weaver were in attendance.
ItThe Minutes of the meeting of March 3, 1966, were approved as
mailed.
Firearms Ordinance: Chairman Wolf read a letter from the National
Rifle Association in answer to our query about range specifications
and request for any aid they might offer. Many manuals covering
all uses of arms and ranges were included and examined by the
Committee, together with a sample Ordinance of Montgomery County,
State of Maryland. This Ordinance was used by the Committee
as a guide. Rather than set down definite rules for each and
every condition necessary for all types of of ranges, it was felt
that an inspection committee be created, appointed by the Mayor
and approved by the Council. The rules and procedures of this
Range Inspection Committee to become a part of the Ordinance.
The Meeting adjourned at 10:25 P.M.
