PSEM19870618• PUBLIC SEWER COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 18, 1987 The meeting was called to order at 7:10 P.M. by Chairman Sanders. Also present were Committee Members Dumke and Hilt, Mayor Salentine, Utility Plant Operator Scott Kloskowski and those per the attached list. The Committee reviewed the Bellview/Bay Lane Sewer Project. A request dated June 17, 1987 received from Glenn and Ruth Pellmann asked that the value to be placed on the sewer easement through their property be established at $4,000.00. Ald. Hilt moved to recommend acceptance of the offer of $4,000. from Mr. and Mrs. Pellmann and moved that risers be installed on Bay Lane. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Mayor Salentine will contact Mr. and Mrs. Pellmann to determine whether or not they wish laterals to be installed at this time. The Committee reviewed the Valley View request for sewer service. The Engineers have determined that possibly a temporary connection could be made from the manhole on Sunnyhill & Ridge Road until the Schaefer farm is developed and a permanent connection can be made. The Committee directed Mayor Salentine • to discuss the required easement for this temporary connection through the Schaefer property with Mr. Alvin Schaefer and directed the City Engineers to prepare cost estimates of the project. The Clerk's Office is asked to notify the residents who did not sign the petition for sewer service of the proposed project and indicate that further discussion will be held at the July Public Sewer Committee meeting. The Committee did a final review of the Wentland Assessment Roll and Engineers report and established the rate of interest to be 8% and the installment plan in accordance with the Sewer Assessment Policy. This project will be financed through the Sewer Utility and the Utility will be reimbursed at a future borrowing. The above conditions will also be in effect for the two properties in the Wentland Addn. No. 1 project. The estimate and timetable for the installation of the grinder pump for the Oakhill Estates Sewer Project was deferred until information is received from the contractor. Mayor Salentine updated the Committee on the status of FLOW. Contracts for the upgrading of the Lift Station have been signed. Ite Committee reyiewed the status of the Northeast Pump Station Is an onment and it was noted that they are waiting for more fill. • • Public Sewer Committee - Page 2 June 18, 1987 The Committee reviewed corresondence from the Sewer Utility Clerk in regard to the Ludwig/Strampe properties on Kurtze Lane that have not connected to the sewer system. It was noted that the connection fees for the two properties have been paid but a plumbing permit has not been taken out. Ald. Dumke moved to direct the Building Inspector to secure quotes for forced hook-up for the two properties to be reviewed at the July Public Sewer Meeting. Seconded by Ald. Hilt, motion carried. The property owners had applied to the State for a permit to service both homes with a single lateral and that permit has been received. The Committee reviewed corresondence from the City Engineers regarding the Adrian Heights Subdivision. The Committee directed the Mayor to verify that the property in question is within the contract service area of MMSD. Ald. Dumke moved to approve sewer extension plans for Tans Drive (Richard Zach Development). Seconded by Ald. Hilt, motion carried. Ald. Hilt moved to approve sewer extension plans for the proposed Woodcrest Height Subdivision. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried.
