OF MEETING HELD
NOVEMBER
20, 1986
The meeting was called to order at 8:10 P.M. by Chairman
Penovich. Also present were Committee Member Sanders, Mayor
Salentine, Ald. DeAngelis and those per the attached list.
Ald. Dumke was absent.
The Committee reviewed the forced hook-up for the Ludwig/Strampe
property with Mr. Stan Potrykus. Mr. Potrykus stated that
approval from the State for a special permit for multiple hook-
ups by a single lateral is pending. Mr. Potrykus indicated that
a resubmittal was required due to an error on his behalf and that
he contemplated receiving approval within the next thirty days.
Mr. Ludwig has agreed to connect two homes and the third home on
the property will be razed. Ald. Penovich moved to draft an
agreement to be signed by Mr. Ludwig and Mr. Verburgt requiring
that the third home be vacant by June 1, 1987 and razed by July
1, 1987.
The Committee acknowledged notification from the Utility Clerk
that the house on the E. J. Salentine property which was being
considered for forced hook-up has now been razed.
isThe Committee discussed the proposed Oakhill Estate Sewer Project
with property owners in attendance. The present front foot
assessment charge is estimated to be $46.00 due to removing the
non -assessable costs. The bids for the project will be let
following DNR and MMSD approval. When the bid results have been
received, the City will notify all residents of the date of the
public hearing. After the public hearing, the Common Council
will make a decision whether or not to proceed with the
project. The Waukesha County Health Department will be contacted
to answer the following questions raised by some of the property
owners:
1. The expected life of a septic system.
2. Could failing septics be the cause of several
wells having high Coliform.
3. Whether the Department of Health would agree to
numerous holding tanks in a Subdivision when the
City has the capacity to sewer that Sudivision.
The Rinderle, Stichmann and Schwabenlender properties will be
contacted to see if they wish laterals to be installed at the
time of the project.
• Mr. Arthur Bostater appeared before the Committee to request a
proration of deferred sewer assessment on the property located on
Racine Avenue and Muskego Dam Road. The request is to prorate
the front foot assessment abutting the four lots that have

been divided by certified survey and an intended division of
property by legal description. The second request is to prorate
the land to the south of the legal description to the property
line abutting Muskego Dam Road. The balance of the assessment to
be deferred. This proration can only be accomplished by the
property owner becoming part of the five year deferred assessment
policy. Ald. Penovich moved to recommend that the proration be
approved. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried.
The Committee reviewed the McShane Treatment Plant Abandonment.
The Drainage pipe between the settling pond will be capped by the
City.
Mayor Salentine advised the Committee that Clearwater Technology
had completed sealing the manholes. Ald. Penovich moved to
recommend that all future manhole covers be sealed upon
installation. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Mayor
Salentine will advise the City Engineer of this new policy.
The Committee reviewed the draft of the Sewer Agreement for Tom
Carter. Ald. Sanders moved to recommend approval. Seconded by
Ald. Penovich, motion carried.
The Committee reviewed the Wentland Drive Sewer Project and
determined that tax key 2180.983 will be included in the project.
Meadow Green Subdivision was removed from the Agenda.
The Sewer Treatment Plant Operator's report was reviewed and
placed on file.
