PSEM19851118• PUBLIC SEWER COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 18, 1985 The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Penovich. Also present were Committee Members Dumke and Taube and E. J. Salentine. The Committee reviewed correspondence from the Building Inspector regarding his opinion as to the reason sewer usage charges commence when connection is made to stub lateral or sewer main rather than from date of Occupancy. He felt that once the connection was made, the workmen along with the owners, contractors and salespeople will be using toliet facilities. The Committee decided to defer to find out when MMSD starts the 0 & M charge to Muskego for Sewer Usage. Ald. Dumke moved to authorize the City Engineers to prepare plans and specifications for the Ann Drive Sewer Project. Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried. The Committee discussed the request for use of Sewer Treatment Plant building received from the Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Department. Ald. Dumke moved to allow Tess Corners Fire • Department to occupy the building for training purposes until it fails to be available. Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried. The Committee reviewed request for reimbursement of riser to the Sorenson property on Kurtze Lane (Verburgt). Ald. Dumke moved to credit Verburgt for the $300 charge for riser. Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried. The Committee reviewed the beeper procedure with the Sewer Treatment Plant Operator. Ald. Taube moved to clarify Sewer Treatment Plant Operator's responsibility for beepers, and moved that he be paid for two hours to carry beeper on weekends. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. The Committee discussed the restoration of lift station in regard to the Sobek property. Ald. Dumke moved to have City provide three truck loads of stone, two evergreens and slats for fence. Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried. Correspondence from MMSD regarding extension of sewer service to Gold's Gym was reviewed. Ald. Dumke moved to direct Mayor to discuss the anticipated capital cost pertaining to Gold's Gym with Mr. McCabe of MMSD. Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried. Plans for the Woods Road Sewer Project (Mystic to Durham) were reviewed and Ald. Taube moved to direct the City Attorney to draw up the necessary papers to proceed with acquisition of easements. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. u Public Sewer Committee - Page 2 November 18, 1985 The Committee reviewed the correspondence from MMSD regarding approval of sewer plans for Adrian Drive and Saroyan Drive Sewer Projects and placed on file. The Committee reviewed the breakdown of the forced hook-up charges for the Verburgt properties on Kurtze Lane. Ald. DeAngelis appraised the Committee of the lots that do not have a private lateral on Kurtze Lane. The Committee reviewed the report on the Plant Abandonment. The meeting adjourned at 8:10 P.M.
