PSEM19830113_ PUBLIC SEVER COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
SMINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 13, 1983
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Klenz at 7:05 P.M. Also
present were Committee Members Nilsson and Tomczyk, Mayor Salentine,
Aldermen Treba and Dumke.
Chairman Klenz read a letter from Ruekert and Mielke regarding sewer
backup. This was done for the benefit of the people from Freedom
Acres who were present. He also read a letter recommending a 6"
Marlow pump which is portable. The pump is capable of discharging
1300 gallons per minutes. Ruekert and Mielke highly recommends
the city purchase a pump of this type to eliminate damage. The
people present from Freedom Acres then discussed with the committee
problems they have experienced. Ald. Dumke stated he felt the problem
starts with surface water which adds to the sewer problems. He said
he would discuss this matter with Supt. Bertram to see if he had
some solution. The committee will ask Supt. Bertram to survey the
manholes and area of Indian Trail and Easy Streets with a possibility
of running TV through the lines.
Ald. Nilsson moved to recommend to the Common Council the purchase of
the 8" Marlow pump. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk. Motion carried.
The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on
file.
James Kibbe reported on the McShane treatment plant.
Mayor Salentine advised the committee regarding the application for
the Step III Grant to EPA. The committee recommends to Common
Council adoption of a resolution applying for the grant.
The committee will have the Bass Bay plans re -submitted along with
the interceptor plans to the DNR.
There being no further business, Ald. Tomczyk moved to adjourn.
Seconded by Ald. Nilsson. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned
at 8:50 P.M.
