PSEM19820419PUBLIC SEWER COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 19, 1982 The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Salentine. Also present were Committee Members Dumke and Klenz and those persons as per the attached list. James Kibbe arrived at 7:55 P.M. The committee once again discussed the Demshar forced hookup matter. Mr. Donald Dixon, adjacent property owner, was present at the meeting and indicated that he had not discussed the matter any further with Mr. Demshar. He submitted a survey of his property which also showed the Demshar and a portion of the Schuler property. The survey indicated that Mr. Demshar presently has a 16' access easement across the Schuler property just south of the Dixon property. Mr. Dixon advised the committee that he would discuss the matter with Mr. Schuler prior to the next Sewer Committee meeting. Chairman Salentine also will speak to Mr. Schuler. Ald. Klenz moved to defer action on this matter until the next meeting of the committee. Seconded by Ald. Salentine. Motion carried. The minutes of the previous meeting held March 22, 1982 were reviewed and placed on file. New business • Several residents of Freedom Acres Subdivision were present to complain of sewerage backup in their basements. Mr. Allan Jacobus, W143 57615 Indian Trail, stated the most recent backup occurred on April 2 and April 3rd and left 30" of sewerage in his basement. He also indicated he has had several other backups over the last few years. Another resident complained of the inefficient system and felt that excessive drainage of Bluhm Park attributed to the problem. The following temporary solutions were discussed: 1. Additional alarm system indicating when water is rising beyond the danger point and indicating when auxiliary pumps should be started. 2. The purchase of an additional pump 3. Authorizing Ruekert & Mielke to do a study advising what they feel might be needed to solve the problem 4. The installation of a permanent bypass pump Ald. Klenz moved to have Ruekert & Mielke do a "quick" thorough evaluation of the area and the northeast plant to determine what steps are necessary alleviate the problem. The evaluation should take the above four suggestions into consideration. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried. Those persons present were also advised by the committee that if they would contact the building inspection department to inspect their existing system, the committee would direct them to respond to each call. Ald. Salentine moved to direct the Public Works Department to correct the Town of Norway's complaint regarding the manhole repair on South Denoon Road. Seconded by Ald. Klenz. Motion carried.
